Angus Tulloch, Joint Managing Partner, Asia Pacific & Global Emerging Markets Equity Team

Angus Tulloch is Joint Managing Partner of the Asia Pacific & Global Emerging Markets equity team at First State Investments. Angus’ primary focus is stock selection and portfolio construction.

Angus has more than 30 years' investment experience, joining Stewart Ivory (subsequently bought by First State Investments) in Scotland in 1988. It was here that he established an Asia Pacific/Global Emerging Markets capability. Since this time the team have gained industry recognition as one of the leading managers in their sectors.

 

Habib Subjally, Head of Global Equities

 
Habib Subjally 

Habib Subjally joined First State Investments in April 2006 as Head of Global Equities. Habib previously held roles as Head of Small & Mid Cap Research at Credit Suisse Europe, and Head of the Global Equities team at INVESCO Asset Management.

Prior to this, Habib worked at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (formerly Mercury Asset Management), where, as the Head of North American and Global Equities Research, he developed and managed the concentrated global equity product including the Mercury Global Titans Fund. Habib commenced his career as a Chartered Accountant specialising in the insurance industry at Ernst & Young.

 

Dr Joanne Warner, Head of Global Resources

 
Joanne Warner 

Dr Joanne Warner joined First State Investments as a portfolio manager in August 1997 and became Head of Global Resources in June 2010. Joanne has been primary Portfolio Manager for the First State Global Resources Fund since 2006 as well as all publicly offered Global Resources long funds in Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Joanne has more than 13 years’ experience as a specialist Global Resources portfolio manager and analyst. She moved into the financial sector with the London based global mining specialist broker, T Hoare & Co, where she spent two years as an analyst before moving to Equitilink as a Fund Manager in the resources sector.

Joanne holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Applied Chemistry) from the University of Technology, Sydney, where she won the University Medal. She was awarded a Commonwealth Scholarship to study at the University of Oxford where she was awarded a PhD in Solid State Chemistry. In November 2007, she won the Outstanding Achievement Award for Mining Funds Management at the annual Mines and Money Conference, sponsored by the Mining Journal in London.

 

Andrew Nicholas, Head of Property Securities

Andrew joined First State Investments in April 2006 as a Senior Portfolio Manager, with 18 years of industry experience.

Before joining First State, Andrew worked with UBS Global Asset Management as a Portfolio Manager for the Property Securities Fund which invests in listed property in the Australian equity market.  Prior to this, Andrew worked at Deutsche Bank for 10 years in a number of roles including Head of Equity Research and Deputy Head of Asian Equity Research.   For many years Andrew was the number one rated Developers and Contractors analyst.  His experience also includes coverage of a vast number of stocks and industries, mostly property and asset related.

 

Peter Meany, Head of Global Infrastructure Securities

 
Peter Meaney 

Peter joined First State Investments in January 2007 as Head of Global Infrastructure Securities. Peter brings over 10 years experience in the infrastructure and utilities sectors.

At Credit Suisse Equities (Australia), Peter was responsible for research coverage in these sectors. He received top rankings in a number of industry surveys and was involved in a number of company defining corporate transactions. Prior to Credit Suisse, Peter was an analyst at Macquarie Equities when the infrastructure sector was in its infancy.

 

Niall Mills, Head of Infrastructure Asset Management, Europe

 
Niall Mills 

Niall Mills leads the infrastructure asset management activities in Europe where he is a Director on the Boards of AWG, ENW and Reganosa.
He has over 20 years of Infrastructure experience gained in senior industry roles across a variety of sectors, including utility companies, rail and airports. Niall is a Chartered Civil Engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and holds an MBA from London Business School.
